The Business Model Group fosters innovation, technology advancement, and entrepreneurship by helping youth develop digital-age skills through creative activities and technology workforce development. Business Model Group Youth Mobile Project exists to provide opportunities for Black High School students to learn about and practice entrepreneurship at an early age. BMG provides an environment and community where Black students can explore business and creative areas within an innovative space fostering the development of entrepreneurial skills, mindsets, self-agency, and the transferability of these skills and mindsets into school, career, and life.
The Business Model Group Youth Mobile Project Initiative leverages computer science education and the widespread availability of mobile phones to empower its students. Young girls and boys are introduced to coding as both a resource to solve local issues and as a tool to develop complex learning skills. Students are encouraged to develop, promote, and eventually sell mobile applications as the key to ensure sustainable development.
